Press-Tool for hose-assembling by self

Press-Tool for hose-assembling by self
Part-No. SSM 2
With the MECO press tool No. SSM 2 hose lines in nominal widths of 4, 6, 8 and 10 can be installed using the hoses and fittings listed in this brochure. A normal workshop vice is all that is needed to hold the tool. The tool is opened by turning the nut with two handles anti-clockwise. The pins are then forced apart with a finger and the hose with pre-fitted sleeves and fittings can be inserted. By turning the nut clockwise, the pins are centrally driven inwards, deforming the hose sleeve in such a way that a secure connection is achieved. Care must be taken to ensure that the inner ball of the outer nut against which the six pins press is well greased.

Part-No. SSM 5
This press tool is compressed with a vice in the same way as the preceding version; in the process, it deforms the sleeve of a hose inserted in one of the four assembly holes in such a way that a secure connection is achieved; in other words, the same tool can be used to connect hoses with a nominal width of 4, 6, 8 and 10 or an inside diameter of 5.5 to 11.5 mm. Two mounting rails prevent the tool dropping through the open jaws of the vice. Two springs force the two halves of the tool apart when it is opened.
